Today in Western Civ. we had an introduction to the class and then looked at our new textbooks and wrote down some of these notes:

 Vocabulary:
  • Mycenaeans - people who settled in the Greek mainland around 2000 B.C.
  • Trojan War - a ten year war fought against Troy.
  • Dorians - A group of people that moved into the war-torn countryside
  • Homer - Blind storyteller
  • Epics - narrative poems of Homer's personal life.
  • Myths - traditional stories about Greek gods.
